About this spot
Lower Peck's Falls sits along a steep, quarter-mile spur trail off Gould Road in Adams, near Greylock Glen, with informal parking along the road shoulder or the Glen resort lot. The brook drops roughly 50 feet through a narrow rock chute below the shorter 12-foot upper falls, and locals have used the plunge pool as an unofficial swimming hole for generations. Swimming here rates only fair -- the lower pool is harder and slicker to reach than the upper falls' better basin. There is no real jumping culture: guides explicitly call jumping unnecessary and dangerous given the shallow pool. Moss-covered rock, a steep approach, and strong spring flow are the hazards that matter most; stay back from the lip and scout depth before entering. Access is free, informal, and unregulated.
