Deer Hill Falls drops about 60 feet in a horsetail cascade over Roaring Brook inside Mount Greylock State Reservation in Williamstown. Park along Rockwell Road and follow the Roaring Brook Trail past the group campground, a roughly 2.2-mile round trip with a steep descent into the valley; dogs are not permitted on this stretch. Guides describe a large pool at the base where hikers cliff jump, but the flow is highly seasonal, running strong through spring snowmelt and rain and shrinking to a trickle by late summer, so timing the trip matters. Before jumping, scout the landing zone for submerged rocks, since pool depth shifts with the season and no one is watching the water. It sits on public reservation land with no posted swimming ban.
