About this spot
Peck's Falls sits in Greylock Glen, a short steep hike (about 0.1-0.2 mile) down from parking on Gould Road or the Greylock Glen Resort lot. Two drops make up the site: a 12-foot upper falls with tiered plunges into a shallow wading pool, and a 50-foot lower falls whose base pool is harder and riskier to reach. The upper pool is a generations-old, unofficial local swimming hole on Pecks Brook, especially popular with families in summer; this is a swim spot rather than a jump spot, and no cliff-jumping tradition is documented here (nearby Bellevue Falls is the area's known jump site). Flow peaks with spring snowmelt and after heavy rain. The hazard that matters is footing: scout the pool for submerged rocks before entering and stay back from the slick ledge above the lower falls, since serious falls happen at New England waterfalls every year.
