Tannery Falls is a real, well-documented waterfall and swimming hole in Savoy Mountain State Forest, reached via a short but steep trail off Tannery Road near North Adams. The falls drop in tiered plunges and cascades, roughly 80 feet of total height, with the tallest single drop feeding a pool at the base. Multiple independent hiking and swimming-hole guides document people cliff jumping here, though the basin itself is described as shallow and rocky rather than a safe swim, and flow is seasonal, often best after spring rain. Access is legal within the state forest, with limited parking at a small trailhead lot.
