About this spot

Whitetail Falls is one of a tight cluster of small, largely unphotographed cascades on the Kings Creek/Fawn Branch drainage behind John Rock in Pisgah National Forest, near the better-known Warrior Falls, Bambi Falls, and Fawn Branch Falls. No maintained trail reaches it; access is off-trail bushwhacking over slick creek rock. It is on public Forest Service land, but no independent write-up, photo, or swim/jump report was found beyond catalog listings.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
