About this spot
Bald River Falls is a 90-foot cascade in Cherokee National Forest, reached via TN-165 out of Tellico Plains and then Tellico River Road (FR 210) — the falls sit right off the road with roadside parking, though spots fill fast on weekends and holidays. Swimming happens in the pool at the base of the main falls. The actual cliff jumping and sliding is not off the tall falls itself but about half a mile upstream at a smaller cascade locals call Baby Falls. Current is strong near the base and rocks are slick, so scout depth before jumping. No restrooms or potable water on site; access is free.
