About this spot
Travel south from Knoxville on Highway 129, also known as Alcoa Highway, until reaching Maryville. Continue east on Highway 321 toward Townsend, then turn right at the Cades Cove directional marker. Follow the one-way loop road around Cades Cove until you spot the Abrams Falls Trail sign, where you'll find a gravel parking area. The trail itself spans approximately three miles and terminates at the waterfall. To reach the jump point, ascend the left side of the falls and leap toward the area directly below where falling water impacts the pool. Expect quite cold water conditions. Note: Wildlife in the area should not be fed.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
