About this spot

Cane Creek Twin Falls sits just inside the Townsend entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, about 2.5 miles east of the Townsend Wye on Little River Gorge Road. Park in the tiny pull-off right at the falls (room for 2-3 cars only) and pick down a short rocky path to the water. The falls are modest, roughly 8 feet, split into twin drops best seen in winter/spring before leaves fill in. Below is a genuine local swimming hole with a rope swing that's fun but tricky to reach. Hazards: slick rocks, cold water, and a blind curve on Little River Gorge Road that makes the pull-off dangerous to enter or exit — never stop on the curve itself. No permit needed; NPS land, no lifeguard.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
