About this spot
The Dorset Marble Quarry is a popular cliff-jumping and swimming spot in Dorset, Vermont — the site of America's first commercial marble quarry, now filled with deep, clear blue water. Several ledges at different heights ring the pool, and summer weekends get busy. Know before you go: the site is privately managed in season — parking is $15 per car at the Dorset Marble Park lot on Kelly Road (parking along Route 30 is prohibited and patrolled), and entry requires the operator's wristband/waiver. Rules about jumping are posted on site and enforced (cameras run, repeat rule-breakers get barred) — follow current signage. Water is quarry-cold even midsummer, marble edges are slick, and there's no lifeguard. Portable toilets in season; no other facilities.
