About this spot
Upson Falls is an 18-foot drop on the Potato River in Upson Town Park, Iron County, reached via Highway 77 to Hoyt Avenue and a short dirt path from the parking area. Several riverfront trails lead down to spots where visitors swim and wade below the falls, and the park includes free camping and a picnic area alongside a rocky overlook trail. The site is family-oriented rather than an extreme cliff-jumping location; the main hazards are slick rock near the lip and stronger current after rain or snowmelt. It's a short, easy-access waterfall that locals use for cooling off in summer, and it is publicly accessible through the town park at no charge.
